Very scarce Swedish made Carl Gustaf lead free, double steel core 5.56 Light Armor Piercing ammunition! At first glance, this ammunition appears to be just another M855/SS109 variant, however a few big differences set it apart from its peers. A typical M855 projectile houses a small steel penetrator tip followed by a lead core that makes up about 2/3 of the overall bullet length. The Carl Gustaf 62 grain projectile also has a steel penetrator tip, but instead of a soft lead plug behind it, there's a steel cylinder which gives it a performance edge over its lead core equivalents. The 62 grain projectile of the Carl Gustaf is also slightly longer than M855 simply because steel is less dense than lead and more is needed to reach the 62 grain bullet weight. When this ammunition was first imported, it was thought to be standard SS109, and nobody discovered what it truly was until years later when it had mostly been shot up. We secured a small quantity of this ammunition with no guaranteed or anticipated replacement on the way.
