The M903 .50 Caliber SLAP (Saboted Light Armor Penetrator) was a specialized .50 BMG round developed by the USMC in the 1980s and was loaded in Browning M2 machine guns during Operation Desert Storm. SLAP ammunition can multiply armor penetration by a factor of at least two at any given range, as well as flatten its trajectory to extend its range. The M903 SLAP features a 355 grain Tungsten projectile that travels at an incredible 4000 feet per second and produces 12200 foot pounds of muzzle energy. Although these have been stored well and are safe to fire (without a muzzle break on), they are more appealing to cartridge collectors due to the rarity of this particular cartidge. Know your local laws regarding AP ammunition to avoid restocking fees! PLEASE NOTE: some rounds may have some appearance of surface "rust" from the manufacturing process, but does not affect function or quality! Military contract does specify or require a certain aesthetic appeal for ammunition, so surface color variations can be seen on some rounds. This particular batch of M903 SLAP has WCC and WMA headstamps. Both are Winchester headstamps, and both are genuine factory loaded M903 SLAP cartridges.
