MREs – Meals Ready To Eat
These are genuine military issue MREs our troops eat, not your commercial big box store hiking rations.
Tired of granola bars and trail mix on camping trips? Meet the MRE – a Meal, Ready-to-Eat that’s ready to rescue you from your hunger. Originally designed for U.S. troops in combat, these meal packs are now available on DozerMunitions.com to everyone looking for a hearty, convenient, and long-lasting food option. No cooking skills required!
Single sealed (one meal), genuine US MRE (Meal Ready To Eat). Ameriqual, Wornick, or Sopakco manufacture.
Built for Battle, Ready for You
Each MRE is inspected and verified fresh by the manufacturer, so you can trust you’re getting top-quality fuel. These meals were made to sustain U.S. military troops in combat, which means they’re hearty, reliable, and downright satisfying. In fact, we’d say they’re hands-down some of the best MREs you’ll find anywhere. Each pack serves up around 1,250 calories – because battles (or long hikes) aren’t fought on empty stomachs! And despite being built for battlefield nutrition, they taste pretty darn good too.
What’s Inside Each Meal
Each pack features a different set of items, but generally, here’s what you can expect from each pack:
- Main Entrée: A generous portion of a tasty dish from a world of cuisines. Menus range from 01 - 24, and feature choices inspired by Asian, Mexican, Italian, and traditional American classics (it’s like an international food tour in a bag!)
- Snacks & Dessert: A mix of sides or treats to keep you satisfied. Each meal comes with an assortment of snacks and a dessert
- Drinks: MREs usually include a drink of some kind. Coffee or cappuccino for your caffeine fix, or an orange drink.
- Flameless Heating: The flameless ration heater (FRH) – just add a bit of water, and it heats your meal. The accessory kit can also include essentials like seasonings, toilet paper, and other handy survival bits.
Long Shelf Life
MREs are built to last for years. In fact, they don’t come with a typical expiration date at all. Instead, each one has a pack date and an inspection date (usually about three years after it was packed). That inspection date is just the point when the military would double-check their stored cases to make sure the rations are still good to go.
As a general guideline, manufacturers suggest that these meal contents stay good for ~5 years or more when stored at room temperature. Store them in a cooler place, and they’ll stay fresh even longer. In short, you’ve got long-term food security sitting on the shelf, ready whenever you need it.
Whether you’re gearing up for a weekend camping trip, preparing for an emergency, or just want a no-fuss meal for the road, genuine military issue MREs have you covered. They combine military-grade reliability with home-style flavor to deliver a tasty, comforting meal anytime, anywhere.
