Rare U.S. WWII production M21A1 star signal parachute flare in the sealed tube! These flares were designed to be shot from an M1 Garand rifle with the grenade adapter muzzle device and a grenade blank, and are approximately 12" tall. Estimated range is 200+ meters. Once deployed, the flare charge ignites and slowly floats to earth from the parachute, which maximizes hang time and visibility. The open examples we have of the M21A1 are amber in color and have a production date of October 1944. Color and year of other units unknown, although they did all come from the same lot. A very hard to find collector's piece with limited quantities available!
